FREIGHT TRANSPORTATION

Experienced developer/ builder, Procon Developments, have acquired the RTAA site and the ensuing 62 hectares with the sole purpose of developing a Carbon Neutral Logistics and Enterprise Hub.

The Avon West Hub is more than just a logistics center; it represents a new model for supply chain management in Australia. By providing a centralized location that connects multiple transportation modes, the hub enables businesses to consolidate their logistics operations, reducing the complexity and inefficiencies associated with managing separate supply chains. This consolidation is expected to lead to significant cost savings, not only in transportation but also in inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.

One of the key benefits of the Avon West Hub is its ability to facilitate just-in-time (JIT) delivery systems. With its efficient transport links and state-of-the-art facilities, businesses can minimize inventory levels and reduce storage costs, while still ensuring that they can meet customer demand in a timely manner. This shift towards more efficient supply chain practices is likely to have a ripple effect across the Australian economy, as businesses become more competitive and responsive to market changes.

The AvonWest facilities can increase speed to market by up to 48 hours by avoiding the need for cross docking in metropolitan Perth and subsequently reduce turnaround time for back loads. Potentially adding an extra 20-25 East-West crossings per annum.

AvonWest plans to establish container servicing, truck maintenance and tyre serving facilities within the estate, to provide a full service support offering to the transport sector.

DATA CENTERS

Avon West offers a high-capacity, power grid essential for the uninterrupted operation of data centers. The availability of renewable energy options further aligns with the growing focus on sustainability.

LARGE-SCALE LOGISTICAL CENTERS

The Avon West industrial project is expected to significantly contribute to the region's economic growth. By attracting large logistics companies and facilitating increased commerce, the project will create thousands of jobs, both directly within the logistics facilities and indirectly through the supply chain and associated services.

The Avon West industrial project, located in Western Australia, is poised to become a significant driver of commerce and growth in the parcel and package delivery industry, attracting many major global players that dominate the Australian logistics business.

This development is part of a broader strategy to enhance the region’s logistical capabilities and position Avon West as a central hub for freight and distribution within Australia and beyond.

One of the primary benefits of the Avon West industrial project is its strategic location and the planned infrastructure upgrades that will make it a key node in Australia’s logistics network. With easy access to major highways, rail networks, and proximity to ports, Avon West will streamline the movement of goods across the country. This makes it an ideal location for logistics companies looking to establish or expand their sorting and distribution facilities.

Logistical companies are likely to benefit from the project’s ability to improve the efficiency of domestic and international shipments. Avon West’s enhanced connectivity will reduce transit times, lower shipping costs, and increase the reliability of their services across Australia as well as gain from the increased capacity and optimized routes the Avon West project will offer.

E-commerce growth has driven the demand for logistical centers globally, This has caused the warehouse and storage market to be valued at approximately $500 billion in 2022 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of about 7-8% through 2027.

It is estimated that large-scale logistics centers can employ hundreds to thousands of workers. For example, Amazon's distribution centers in other parts of the world often employ between 1,000 to 3,000 people per site.

RENEWABLE ENERGY SOLUTIONS

"Avon West’s Commitment to a Greener Future: The Carbon Credit System Explained"

Carbon credits are vital to Australia’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Each carbon credit represents one ton of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2-e) that has been avoided, reduced, or removed from the atmosphere.

These credits can be earned by companies that implement projects aimed at reducing their carbon footprint, such as the use of renewable  such as solar power.

At the Avon West Logistical Hub, companies can earn carbon credits by implementing a variety of sustainable practices that reduce their overall carbon emissions.

One primary method is through the adoption of energy-efficient technologies such as solar power which can help companies significantly lower their carbon footprint.
